Monday I went to visit Nancy and Jacque of Red Hott Tomatoes. (Yep, I needed goat cheese bad enough to drive to Bowdon.) Even more fun, Chris came with me.
We had a swell time hanging with the dairy goats and a grey cat with too much personality. And meeting new chickens and rabbits. And being bowled over by the amount of work that goes into being a farmer.
Speaking of new rabbits, check out this little girl.
She’s a 7 week old Mini-Rex and so cute! None of these pictures do her justice. Her demeanor is sweet and curious, and she’s very soft.
And she’s for sale. So if you’re interested, contact Jacque and Nancy or leave me a note and we’ll get you in touch.
[…] couple of weeks ago, I trekked to Bowdon to pick up some goat cheese. Nancy warned me that the cheese wasn’t going to last as long as the […]
Susan, we enjoy your visit and sorry I’m so late in posting this! Nice to meet Chris…..
The lovely bunny I was holding was sold last week…Oh how happy I was that she was placed with a loving home…
Good news for bunny lovers, I have 3 little flop earred bunnies (Holland lops) and 5 of the precious gals (posted above) sisters for sale…They are so cute and little. You know I love all my bunnies but the holland lops and the mini rex (above) are such great pets and we do spoil them! We’re also awaiting some births for our “elvis” bunnies….The Lionshead with the big mane of hair around their face….I must send you a shot of them.
Well, life is really busy on the farm this week, moving the baby chicks that have grown into a new pen area, moving the big turkeys into separate pens, training a new little baby, separating out and cleaning strawberry beds, getting ready for Fall festival this week, shipping hatching eggs around the Country, cooking and of course making cheese….It’s time to make more goat butter too.
Looking in seed catalogues and working on compost piles and in December the Greenhouse!
The fun never ends!
We’ve sold 2 precious milk goats and will be selling 2 more….Wish you had land for 2 of them!
Good news about the bunny! Is the Fall Festival the event at the Ag Center in Carrollton this Saturday? If so, I hope to see you there!
